The Science Engineering & Technological Upliftment Foundation (SETU Foundation) Common Engineering Facility Centre (CEFC) is being set up on a cluster model to offer common facilities to existing Textile Machinery and Light Engineering industries in and around Surat. It consists of a design center for designing machinery and spares, a Product Development Centre for manufacturing required tools for machinery, a testing lab for equipment validation, and a training center for skill development. The SETU Foundation CEFC is working as a services provider to increase efficiencies of the small and medium-scale local units by offering services that are not available with the independent units. The main objective of the Centre is to provide quality services to the customers by satisfying their requirements and impart technical training to Textile Machinery manufacturing and related light engineering sectors. The CEFC envisages supporting the existing Textile Machinery and Light Engineering Industries in overcoming the local challenges and facing global competition through state-of-the-art technology, quality products, testing standards, and trained manpower.
